3T3CellLine:
The3T3-L1celllinewasestablishedin1974fromaSwissalbinomouse(Musmusculus)embryo.Thiscelllineexhibitsfibroblastmorphologyandisverysimilartothe3T3cellline,fromwhichitisderived.Thesecellsdonotcarryectromeliavirus(mousepox).3T3-L1couldbeusefulforstudyingfibroblastcells,ormammalianembryonictissue.Thiscelllinehasbeenknowntodoublenearlyevery14hours.3T3-L1cellsaresensitivetolipolyticandlipogenichormonesanddrugssuchasepinephrine,isoproterenol,andinsulin.Progressingfromarapidlydividingtoaconfluentandcontactinhibitedstate,3T3-L1celllineundergoesapre-ADIposetoadipose-likeconversion.3T3-L1isanembryonicmousefibroblastcelllinewidelyusedinthestudyofadiposetissueasitscellscandifferentiateintoadipocytesunderproperconditions.AltogenBiosystemsprovideslipid-basedtransfectionkitsforthe3T3-L1cellline.
